For nearly 20 years attorney Matthew Howell has handled civil and criminal litigation matters, with a focus on personal injury, corporate litigation, and family law. With well over 200 bench and jury trials to his credit, attorney Howell adds significant experience and wisdom to clients needing assistance in the courtroom.

Attorney Howell has also overseen the Firm’s estate planning and corporate division since the retirement of his partner, Jeff Clark, back in 2022. Clark & Howell serves as the registered agent to over 350 corporations, LLCs and non-profits in Maine and New Hampshire.

Since moving to York, Maine in 2006, attorney Howell has been actively involved in serving the community. He served on the Board of the York Education Foundation for over 10 years, where he held the positions of vice president and president. He also served for multiple years on the Greater York Region Chamber of Commerce, where he likewise held the positions of vice president and president.

In addition to owning and operating the Firm, and raising a young family, attorney Howell also worked as an adjunct professor for five years (between 2017 and 2022) at Boston University’s school of business (Questrom), where he taught law and introductory business courses.
